Spinal Manipulation Therapy or Chiropractic:
Chiropractic care is important in maintaining normal joint function both in the limbs and spine. Spinal manipulation therapy or Chiropractic is a powerful tool that utilizes contact at a specific anatomical location and short lever high velocity thrust to improve joint mobility and function. Appropriate spinal joint function and mobility is critically important for nerve function as well. Improving spinal mobility allows the body to restore health through improving the body's innate function to heal. Consider spinal manipulation for not only lameness and performance issues but also internal medicine concerns.
Acupuncture:
Acupuncture services provided by Dr. McCoy are based on traditional chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) principles. Using acupuncture, often combined with herbal therapy, each patient is treated based upon their specific TCVM pattern. Like chiropractic, TCVM helps the body maintain normal function allowing the animal itself to reach optimum health. TCVM can be useful as a complementary treatment for many health and performance problems.
Many patients are also prescribed an herbal supplement to augment their complementary medicine care. Herbal supplements are produced with stringent quality control through Dr. Xie's Jing Tang herbal company. Herbal supplements can be used to treat specific medical problems, or simply, issues surrounding your animal's TCVM constitution. It has been said, by skilled acupuncturists, that appropriate herbal therapy is like "daily acupuncture," often improving acupuncture results as well as lengthening the time between appointments.
When to consider Chiropractic and TCVM care?
