Ryder Saddles are British saddle makers who have been making, retailing and fitting top quality made to measure saddles for over 30 years.  All of their saddles are hand made on an individual basis by one of their qualified saddle makers.  They fit and make saddles for Olympians to pleasure riders.

Flocked with only 100% jacobs wool.  They understand that people and horses come in all different shapes and sizes and most of our saddles can be made to suit your individual requirements.

Bruno

The Bruno dressage saddle is built on a more open tree to allow the rider the freedom to move in the saddle, it has aesthetically moulded knee blocks that aid with the riders leg position and open the hips to really allow the rider to be part of the horse. The panels and gullet are bespoke to suit each individual horses shape. This is a monoflap saddle making it lighter saddle than a traditional double flap saddle, the positioning of the girth can also be altered to suit. This saddle can be fully customised in all aspects.

Thoroughbred Dressage

New to the Ryder collection - The Thoroughbred Dressage Saddle has being developed for the Thoroughbred horse. The points are long and flexible to allow for freedom of the shoulder on this type of horse. The panels are raised slightly higher to accommodate a high withered horse. The front girth strap is set just behind the point to allow free shoulder movement and not cause the points to tighten. The rear strap is set on a V web swinger system. The block is high into the skirt to give the rider extra support. This saddle is a monoflap saddle.

Ryder Native

Over the last couple of years we have had a lot of requests for a saddle for native type horses or ponies. The tree in this saddle is unique to Ryder and designed by us for the typical English native Equine. The points of the tree are very short and the rails are very flat to accommodate the shape of their back. We have kept the panels very short and shallow and the channel wide to ensure the saddle fits well and stays in position. The saddle has the tree strained in such a way as to give the rider the feeling of a narrow twist even though the horse may be wide. This is a dual flap saddle to allow for girthing options and the flap is shorter than in a standard dressage saddle so it sits well on ponies. The perfect saddle for junior riders and adults on ponies.

Baroque

This Baroque saddle has been specifically developed by Ryder Saddles for the  warmblood  and other such types. It particularly suits Friesian horses. The tree is a U shaped tree made especially for  horses that are wider around the wither area. The tree used in this saddle is unique to Ryder and not available to anyone else. This saddle has a moulded knee roll for support and a medium to deep seat. This saddle puts the rider in perfect balance. Its a dual flap saddle and the girth has a balance strap (V girth) to help to keep the saddle secure with the warmbloods big movement.

Legacy Ultra

The Legacy Ultra is made on the same tree and uses the same shape knee roll as the popular Legacy saddle but has been given a fresh new look for the modern rider of today. The flap is blocked out over the top of the knee roll giving the saddle a very low profile look but still allows a very open feel in the saddle. This saddle allows for comfort, closeness and stability of the lower leg and allows the rider to be at the correct point of balance at all times. Available in standard or wide seat with standard or longer flaps and short rear gussets. This saddle is made with a dual flap saddle.

Ryder Artisan

New to the Ryder collection - The Artisan has the block high into the skirt to give the rider extra support, this gives the rider a very close ride to the horse. The twist is very narrow on this saddle and it is made in a way to allow everything to fall away from the inside thigh, this allows the rider to be close to the horse and really ride of their seat .This saddle is a true monoflap with the flap incorporated into the panel, this gives the rider a very close ride to the horse.
The panel is designed to allow plenty of room across the spine for the horse and for the horse to feel loose and free allowing the horse to work to its highest capability.

Riviera

One of our most stunning saddles ever…. This saddle has all the features and ride-ability of a french saddle. However as with all our saddles the utmost care and thought has gone into the design of this saddle. The panel is designed to ensure the saddle fits your horse in the best possible way to give the best performance. The features of this saddle are a close contact seat, blocked knee pad and a Double SS panel which is unique to Ryder. The concept and design of this saddle is to put the rider as close to the horse as possible. The saddle pictured is made in French calf and pig print hide, the full Ryder leather range is available. Also available as a monoflap.

Trophee

A flat seated monoflap jump saddle. This saddle is the perfect saddle for riders who want to ride with a shorter leg position and have the ultimate close contact feel. The panel is slightly deeper towards the rear of the saddle ensuring the horse has even pressure along its back This saddle is only available as a monoflap saddle. The front knee roll is gently moulded in soft leather allowing you to position your knee where you want.  Finished in best quality french calfskin or a solid leather for longer wear in your choice of colour.

Volante

The Volante saddle gives a good safe and secure feel to the rider. It has a forward moulded flap that sits over the knee block and provides plenty of room for the rider’s leg and security for the rider. This saddle is available in both a mono and dual flap.  In the Mono version the girth system lies neatly between the flap and the sweat flap allowing us to position the girth straps as per the horse’s requirements.  On the dual flap saddle the rear roll is placed on the sweat flap and on the Mono version it is visible on the outside flap. This saddle  has 100% pure wool flocked panels.  As with all of their saddles it is available in a 15 inch to a 19 inch size.

Bellagio

The Bellagio is made on a very similar tree to a continental made saddle and is based on that type of saddle. It has a slimmer and flatter tree than the virage and volante, giving the rider a proper close contact feel. The Knee rolls are unique to the Bellagio and mould perfectly to the rider’s leg. The girth straps on the monoflap version are placed just behind the point of the tree and the rear is a balance strap. Available in most leathers Now available as a monoflap and dual flap saddle.
